GR Delegation Visits Russian Road Authorities to Advance Cross-Border Cooperation in Infrastructure Materials
Jul 22, 2026
A technical delegation from GR recently visited Russia for talks with representatives of the Russian Federal Road Agency, exchanging views on the application of advanced road-engineering materials, local road construction and maintenance standards, and practical pathways toward project cooperation.
During the discussions, the Russian side outlined its current road construction practices, maintenance standards and market-access requirements. GR presented the technical characteristics, relevant applications and value proposition of its advanced pavement materials. The two sides reached initial consensus on pilot application of the new materials and on coordinated project development, laying the groundwork for substantive progress in China–Russia cooperation on infrastructure materials.

Following the talks, Russian officials accompanied the GR delegation on a site survey covering more than 200 kilometres of roads under construction and in service. The field review examined construction, routine maintenance and management practices in Russia’s extreme-cold regions, together with the practical challenges these conditions present, giving the delegation a clear understanding of local technical requirements and market demand.
The Russian authorities expressed strong recognition of the cold-resistance, stability, ease of construction and maintenance, and cost-effectiveness of GR’s pavement solutions, and indicated clear interest in pilot application and broader adoption. The visit opens the way toward ongoing cooperation in infrastructure and establishes a solid foundation for future project implementation.
